On April 1, 2004, the first Prayer and Praise Rally was held at the Civic Center arena. Approximately 8,000 people, representing over 580 churches from the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), came together to worship God and pray for our city. God visited that place as an incredible roar arose unto the heavens, invoking the presence and glory of God over the CSRA. At that time, such a meeting had never been held in the Augusta area. The results of our prayers have been no less than phenomenal as we have seen changes in the realms of crime, economic growth, God's protection over our city, and much more.
Since 2004, Prayer and Praise Rallies continue to be held on the National Day of Prayer each year, as well as other prayer gatherings throughout the city. We still see proof daily of God's faithfulness to answer our prayers.
As events have unfolded in our nation, we were compelled once again to sound the call for prayer. The Prayer and Praise Rally for America on September 13th, 2015 was unlike anything this city has ever experienced. From all over the CSRA and across this nation, the Church came together to pray on behalf of America. We believe that our nation is in desperate need, and the Church can make a difference. We are calling the Body of Christ to come together and continue our fight in prayer for America. Time is short, and it is vital that we take advantage of this moment to join in unity with one purpose and one cause.
The purpose of the Prayer and Praise USA movement is to continue the unity and prayer that has taken place through these events. Please join us online and through social media as we continue to stand in prayer for our nation and local community.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. II Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
